Let’s face it: 2025 will be all about epic adventures. From untamed wildernesses to colourful cultures, these top three destinations have me daydreaming already.

So, buckle up as we dive into the exciting travel plans that promise unforgettable memories.

Off the Beaten Track: South Luangwa, Zambia

Hidden away in Zambia, South Luangwa National Park is pure magic.

It’s wild, untouched, and teeming with life. You’ll find yourself surrounded by lush landscapes, meandering rivers, and an incredible array of wildlife. Lions, leopards, and elephants roam freely here. But the real stars? The birds! Over 400 species call this park home. The absolute showstopper is the Carmine Bee-Eater migration. These vibrant birds nest along the riverbanks, painting the sky in bursts of red and pink. It’s a sight that will take your breath away.

Best time to visit: Late August to November is perfect for spotting wildlife and catching the Carmine Bee-Eaters. The dry season forces animals to gather near water sources, making it a wildlife lover’s dream.

Where to stay: Mfuwe Lodge. Imagine waking up to elephants strolling through the lobby. Yes, it happens here! The camp is luxurious yet immersed in nature, making it the ultimate safari getaway.

Morocco: A Bright and Bold Wonderland

Morocco is calling, and I’m ready to answer.

This vibrant African country is a feast for the senses. Think bustling souks, intricate mosaics, and golden desert dunes. It’s a paradise for photographers. Every corner seems to tell a story. Capture the colours of Marrakesh’s medina, the Atlas Mountains’ sweeping landscapes, and the Sahara’s endless expanse. Don’t forget Chefchaouen, the Blue City, where walls are washed in dreamy hues of blue.

The best places to visit are Marrakesh for its energy, Fes for its history, and Essaouira for its coastal charm. The Sahara Desert should top your list for a camel trek under starlit skies.

The best dish to eat is tagine! This slow-cooked stew is packed with flavour and cooked in a unique clay pot. It’s sweet, savoury, and utterly delicious.

The best time to visit is in the spring (March to May) or fall (September to November), when the weather is just right for exploring.

3. East Africa: Kenya and Tanzania

East Africa is the stuff of safari dreams.

And yes, I simply must experience it before I turn 50. Kenya’s Masai Mara and Tanzania’s Serengeti are the beating hearts of this region. Wide-open savannas stretch as far as the eye can see, dotted with acacia trees and bustling with life. Lions lounging in the shade, giraffes nibbling on treetops, and cheetahs dashing through the grasslands—it’s a safari like no other.

And then there’s the Great Migration. Over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles travel across these plains. It’s one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. Crossing the Mara River is not for the faint-hearted, but it’s thrilling to witness.

Best places to visit: Masai Mara, Serengeti, and the awe-inspiring Ngorongoro Crater. This natural caldera is a haven for wildlife and offers some of the best game-viewing opportunities.

Best time to visit: June to October for the migration and December to February for excellent wildlife sightings. Each season brings its charm.

Safari experiences: Picture yourself in an open jeep at sunrise, the golden light illuminating the savanna. Enjoy a bush breakfast under the shade of an acacia tree. Fall asleep to the distant roar of lions. It’s raw, real, and unforgettable.
