Pizza in Cape Town

Pizza, a dish that originated in Naples, Italy, has evolved into a worldwide culinary sensation.

Firstly, its humble beginnings involved flatbread topped with tomatoes and cheese, baked to crispy perfection. Secondly, thin crusts were preferred in Naples, while thicker bases became popular in the United States. Lastly, no matter the base, pizza is universally adored.  I don’t know of many people who don’t like to munch on good pizza.

Moreover, the scenic view of the harbor adds to the experience.  It is without question, that I adore the people at Satori and more importantly, they are the number one place for pizza. Pizza in Cape Town Thick Pizza Bases

What gives it its name, pizza?

It is important to note, derived from the Latin word pinsa, meaning “flatbread.” Finally, from ancient times to the present.  Moreover, people from all walks of life and all corners of the globe enjoy this flatbread for all its goodness.

After all, Cape Town, these five pizzerias ensure the love affair with pizza continues! Ah, the eternal debate! For me, the best part of a pizza is the crust. As much as, a good crust acts as the foundation of the entire experience.  Whether it’s thin and crispy or thick and chewy.  Equally, it tells a story with every bite. It’s where you find the subtle smoky flavour from the wood-fired oven. Albeit, the perfect texture from a well-kneaded dough. And if it’s stuffed with cheese or brushed with garlic butter? Even better!

What about you—are you a crust connoisseur, a cheese lover, or all about those toppings? 🍕
