As the sun begins to rise over the city, the streets of Old Delhi come alive with activity. First of all, make sure you have very comfortable shoes. The pavements are unsteady and if you are carrying alot of camera equipment, its paramount to have steady feet. India assaults you with the senses, so carry a little vicks, so you can plaster this on your top lip.  To at least get you through the stench! As I explore its rich tapestry of history, culture, and flavour.

After offering your prayers or simply admiring the beauty of the mosque. Just walk through the nearby streets. Allow yourself to get lost in the maze of narrow alleys, where every turn reveals hidden gems waiting to be discovered. Admire the ancient havelis (traditional townhouses) with their intricate carvings and balconies adorned with colourful fabrics.

Without a doubt, this is where a plethora of sights, sounds, and smells await you.  Stop by a local eatery to indulge in some of Old Delhi’s famous street food. Do not fall for the tourist traps.  Go where the locals are.  From spicy chaat (savory snacks) to mouthwatering kebabs. Including, the delectable sweets, the options are endless. Don’t miss trying the iconic parathas at Paranthe Wali Gali. Here you will be able to savor a variety of stuffed flatbreads served with tangy chutneys and creamy curries. Finger licking good!  Just remember you have a westerner tummy, so be careful. Delhi belly is a thing!  For instance, we took charcoal tablets and never once got ill!
