Welcome to my corner of the digital world! I'm thrilled that you've taken the time to visit my website and learn a little more about who I am. Allow me to introduce myself - I am Lauren Maker, a passionate and driven individual with a profound love for Africa, Wildlife, Travel and Photography.

The Journey So Far
My journey as a photographer started decades ago, my love for photography stems from growing up in a media & newspaper world. I was a 17-year-old student as I filed the incredible photographs the Sunday Times in the early 90’s. From then I have always been fascinated by the creativity of a photographer in a war or a riot. I was hooked. And began my journey with a SLR and have never looked back. I love street photography, travel photography and getting into weird and wonderful places to create capture and keep memories in my photographs.

My Passion
At the core of everything I do lies an unwavering passion for Africa. My day job is selling handpicked curated itineraries for honeymooners, families, and friends to Africa. I love the thrill of picking up the phone and selling our beautiful country. Our wildlife, our people, and the unique destinations within Africa. From the plains of the Serengeti to the Ngorongoro crater to a mokoro ride through the Delta. Living in Cape Town, South Africa. I am super proud of welcoming guests to our country for the city lights to the African stars.

My Travels
I am addicted to travel. I love packing a bag and being on the move, from road trips in and around the South Africa to India, Thailand, Turkey, Germany, England and more. I love countries that are packed with culture, beauty and are different to what I am used too! I love to write about my travels and sharing my knowledge, experiences, and insights. Here, you'll find a collection of travel blogs. I hope that my content inspires, educates, and resonates with you, sparking thought-provoking conversations and fostering a sense of community among like-minded individuals.
