When I look up to the sky, I always try make animals out of the clouds, I have managed to create many in my head, my eyes and brain would believe to the detail of whatever animal it was, still today I do it. Its something I do quietly because most people would think its childish or a little off the wall.

So today I decided to use colours, textures, shapes and sizes to make a gallery called Project Colour. I love photography because of what you are able to do with it, you can make something so arbitary into something beautiful. Love to hear your comments, please let me know what colour is your favourite…?

Ever heard of just the two of us, well this was the perfect intimate wedding, where two lovers joined in celebrating their special vows with just the two of them. Their love, respect and care was amazing for each other…a ceremony on the beach with a minister, beautiful spa treatments and a lovely dinner prepared with love and light.

Wishing them both a happily ever after life together…

birds of prey

There is something about a bird of prey, they have such stature and distinction. I am in absolute in awe of these magnificent creatures.

I was lucky enough to spend two hours with numerous rehabilitated birds of prey at the Eagle Encounters center at Spier in Stellenbosch. The center receives birds that have been injured, poisoned or illegally removed from their nests, and works towards re-releasing healthy, fit, successfully hunting and able-breeding raptors into the wild. A self-funded, non-profit organization, Eagle Encounters’ core function is the rehabilitation of birds of prey. You are invited to ‘hold’ tame birds, as well as participate in the daily flying display. And of course for us photographers get close enough to use a Macro 100mm.

Help support Eagle Encounters to succeed in its conservation and community programmes. And adopt a raptor for a small fee of R1000.00 annually. the hardship of trekking

Trekking in Fish Hoek has been done for 120 years, it is a hard job in the cold waters and is labour intensive. Once the flag in raised on mountain, the rush of getting the boats out to catch the fish is incredible to watch, each man has a job and they work like clockwork together.

Watching these fisherman is an amazing experience, if you ever have time and see the trekking boats ready to set out to pull in yellowtail, I suggest you sit on the beach and watch them in action, its a great education to see how these strong men earn a living.

decay, flowers and beauty

After driving off the beaten track I came across a few houses that were old, without roofs, no glass just a memory of somewhere where a family lived. There were many, approximately 6 that settled in the mountains with the most magnicficent views. Now they are falling apart, bricks and cladding breaking, no roofs and certainly no windows. Instead beautiful wild flowers grew in each room. It was a sad reminder how once it was and now how it is.
